2017 Race for Preservation presented by Livingood’s Appliances & Bedding
Saturday, February 25th, 2017
This family friendly event is the perfect way to support your community and have fun at the same time. All race proceeds benefit the ongoing work of HSF and your support demonstrates your commitment to preserving and protecting what makes Savannah special. Historic Savannah Foundation (HSF) is committed to emphasizing its mission throughout the preparation, execution and celebration of the 2017 Race for Preservation presented by Livingood’s Appliances & Bedding. Together, we aim to educate participants, spectators and the public about the purpose of our ongoing preservation efforts throughout the city’s historic neighborhoods.
Packet Pick-up – February 24th, 2017
10AM – 6PM
Volunteer Check-in: Fleet Feet Savannah
Location: 3405 Waters Avenue, Savannah, GA 31404
Packet pick-up prepares race participants for the 11th Annual Race for Preservation presented by Livingood’s Appliances & Bedding scheduled for Saturday, February 25th at Forsyth Park.
9 volunteers are needed to assist HSF staff by greeting participants; distributing runner packets; and relaying event information to race participants. Packet pick up opens at 10AM and ends at 6PM. Volunteers will be split into 3 shifts, each consisting of 3 volunteers. HSF staffers will be present at all shifts. Volunteer attire should be casual and/or sporty. Closed toe shoes required.

Race Day Volunteer Opportunities – February 25th, 2017

The Race begins and ends at Forsyth Park (after a loop around Ardsley and Daffin 5/10K).
Volunteer Check-in: Main Northern Entrance of Forsyth Park (near Gaston and Bull)
- 5-8 people needed for Packet Pick up table & early morning site set up
- 5 people needed for Water Station #1 (Washington & Bull)
- 4 people needed for the 5k Turnaround
- 5 people needed for Water Station #2 (Daffin Park)
- 2 people needed for HSF Table
- 2 people needed for the food table
- 3 people needed for in park beverage station
- 2 people for awards table

Community Partnership: Skidaway Island Marathon – March 25th, 2017
Volunteer Report Time:
Skidaway Island, GA
HSF is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to fill a number of positions during the March 25, 2017 Skidaway Island Marathon & Half Marathon. Through our partnership with Endurance Race Services, HSF will receive a charitable donation by providing 30 volunteers during the Marathon. Historic Savannah Foundation (HSF) relies on the support of volunteers to help fulfill its mission to preserve and protect Savannah’s heritage.
The donation from Endurance Race Services enables HSF to save places that matter to you. We invite you to join the HSF Run Skidaway team! See details below and contact Chassidy Malloy at cmalloy@myHSF.org indicating your area of interest no later than Wednesday, March 15th.
- Water Stations (15 volunteers needed total) Volunteer role: setup water station; prepare water & sports drink; pre-fill cups for runners; breakdown/cleanup station
- Finish Line (15 volunteers needed total) Volunteer role: encourage runners as they near and pass the course finish line; ensure the finish line area remains clear of debris; direct marathon runners to the location of event facilities
