Current HSF Volunteer Opportunities
Community Partnership: Optim Orthopedic Skidaway Island Marathon and Half Marathon – March 25th, 2017
Skidaway Island, GA
HSF is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to fill a number of positions during the March 25, 2017 Skidaway Island Marathon & Half Marathon. Through our partnership with Endurance Race Services, HSF will receive a charitable donation by providing 30 volunteers during the Marathon. The donation from Endurance Race Services enables HSF to save places that matter to you. Historic Savannah Foundation relies on the support of volunteers to help fulfill its mission to preserve and protect Savannah’s heritage.

Race Day Volunteer Opportunities
(20 volunteers needed total)
Location: 10 Ocean Science Circle, Savannah, GA US 31411
Volunteer role: ENSURE that all runners have bibs attached on the front. Make sure that runners move into the starting shoot at the right time (looking for race bibs that match the wave). Encourage runners as they near and pass the course finish line; ensure the finish line area remains clear of debris; direct marathon runners to the location of event facilities.
- Shift 1) 5:00AM – 9:30AM
- Shift 2) 9:30AM – 1:00PM
Water Station #1
(10 volunteers needed total)
Location: McWhorter Dr. and OSCA Rd.
Volunteer role: setup water station; prepare water & sports drink; pre-fill cups for runners; breakdown/cleanup station
- Shift 1) 7:00AM – 11:30AM
- Shift 2) 10:00AM – 3:00PM
