At Historic Savannah Foundation we would not be able to fulfill our advocacy, education and outreach mission without the support of our dedicated and hardworking volunteers. Opportunities to get involved include program support, community clean up, office assistance, working with students in our Hands on History Camp, or volunteering for one of our many Special Events. The Georgia Trust Fall Ramble: October 6 – 8, 2017

Description

Historic Savannah Foundation (HSF) is partnering with The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation to host the 2017 Fall Ramble – giving participants the exclusive chance to admire restored interiors and special furnishings that have been treasured by families for generations. Tours of historic homes and sites are self-guided, and guests provide their own transportation.

Dates/Locations

Friday, October 6th – Midtown Ramble
Saturday, October 7th – Downtown Ramble
Sunday, October 8th – Moon River Ramble

Volunteer Opportunities:

From house docents, registration, and event logistics, volunteer efforts create a wonderful experience for the hundreds of visitors coming to Savannah. Learn about a historic property while you greet visitors. Tasks include interacting with Ramblers and answering site and ramble related questions. Needs are:

Friday, October 6th:
  • Registration at First Presbyterian Church. 11AM – 4PM. 2 shifts: 10:45AM – 1PM; 1PM – 4:15PM)
  • House Docents for Midtown Ramble sites. 11AM – 5PM (2 shifts: 10:45AM – 2PM; 1:45PM – 5PM)
  • Directional Guides & Greeters for dinner and reception at Kehoe Foundry.6PM – 8PM.
Saturday, October 7th:
  • Registration & Breakfast at Lucas Theater & Kennedy Pharmacy. 9AM – 11AM.
  • House Docents for Downtown Ramble sites. 11AM – 5PM (2 shifts: 10:45AM – 2PM; 1:45PM – 5PM)
  • House Docents, Directional Guides and Parking Attendants for dinner at Lebanon Plantation. 6PM – 8PM.
Sunday, October 8th:
  • House Docents, Directional Guides and Parking Attendants for Moon River Ramble sites. 10AM – 2PM

All volunteers receive a complimentary 1-day Ramble ticket.
