Guests will enjoy an elegant evening featuring dinner and live music with many of Savannah’s most prominent community influencers, business leaders and dignitaries.
Julia Butler, chief operating and compliance officer of The Fiduciary Group, will serve as the chair of 2014 HSF Gala. Under Butler’s leadership, this year’s sponsorship commitments have broken unprecedented ground. Butler announced today that Audi Hilton Head at the New River Auto Mall is this year’s title sponsor of the 2014 HSF Gala, pledging $25,000 to HSF. In addition, principal sponsors include, AmerisBank and The Fiduciary Group, with each making a $15,000 contribution to the organization.
“We are looking forward to sponsoring Historic Savannah Foundation’s Gala for the first time this year,” said Warner Peacock, president & CEO of New River Auto Mall. “We’re proud to be involved with such a crucial organization in Savannah.”
HSF selected Chatham Square as this year’s Gala site to showcase the significant historical impact of “The Big Save,” which took place nearly 50 years ago. In the early 1960’s, Armstrong College planned to expand their campus and demolish most of the buildings on Bull Street north to Liberty Street, including Gordon Row, which serves as the southern boundary of Chatham Square. In a deal involving Mills B. Lane, HSF was able to purchase six of the threatened buildings through the organization’s Revolving Fund and save a significant core of one of Savannah’s most prominent streets.
“We share HSF’s important values of trust, preservation, and stewardship, and our community and local economy benefit every day from the important work of this organization,” said Malcolm Butler, president & CEO of The Fiduciary Group. “We are proud to join forces with Audi Hilton Head and AmerisBank as major sponsors of the HSF Gala.”
Each year, the HSF Gala is one of the organization’s largest fundraising events with all proceeds benefitting ongoing preservation initiatives through advocacy, education, and community involvement efforts including the Revolving Fund, which has saved more than 360 historic structures from demolition.
“We greatly admire HSF’s steadfast work to preserve Savannah’s unique history, and their dedication to revitalizing the longstanding Savannah charm,” said Austen Carroll, Savannah market president of AmerisBank. “The work of HSF contributes to making Savannah such a desirable place to live and work. We are honored to support this work because we truly believe in the power of our community and its heritage.”
The 2014 HSF Gala tickets are $225 for HSF members and go on sale June 30. If you are interested in becoming an HSF member, the entry level contribution for an individual annual membership is $50. Additional sponsorship and patronage opportunities are available.
