2011 HSF Annual Appeal

2011 Historic Savannah Foundation Annual Appeal

Historic Savannah Foundation is 56 years old, and we continue to make a difference in Savannah. Our record of saving endangered historic buildings is unparalleled. And in spite of the doldrums of a weak economy and a flat real estate market, we are still saving places that matter. Our Revolving Fund is in full operation (and there are bargains to be had!), but it’s not the only tool we use to save buildings. Advocacy and educational programs also influence positive change, and HSF has been working full bore on a number of fronts ranging from saving the W. W. Law House in Cuyler-Brownville to shaping the new Cay Building on Ellis Square, and from nominating new members the Historic District Board of Review to co-hosting a forum for Mayoral candidates. We make sure our voice is heard on issues ranging from making improvements to the squares and managing tourism in the Landmark District to addressing blight in other neighborhoods.

We do these things because they are important, and because you ask us to. We endeavor to be as responsive as we can be. Likewise, we ask things of you. And we trust you will be as responsive as you can be.

So as you plan your year-end giving, think about HSF and what we do to help make living in Savannah the pleasure that it is. We hope HSF features prominently in your plan and that you make a generous year-end gift in support of our operations and programs.
